Playground in the park

Letterkenny Town Park Playground

By Dalia Taftazani

A great, new, fun and colourful playground in the heart of Letterkenny.

The long awaited Playground has finally reopened.

It's great and suitable for a wide range of ages with a few new touches.

What I liked most about it is that it's safer, having it in two levels rather than having an incline in the middle where kids used to trip and tumble.

The fact that the younger kids section is separated from the older kids one is good too, especially on those very busy sunny days, older kids can play freely and the toddlers are happy and safe.

Lots of lovely artwork on the rides and the interactive nursery rhyme boards and clocks are a fab addition!

The only downside and it was my 6 yo that turned my attention to it, is that there's no shelter anymore. There used to be a den-like shelter ride that everyone used to hide underneath during a heavy downpour. So make sure to take umbrellas on those unpredictable days.

It's berry season now so keep an eye out for that yummy wild berries all around the park.

It's such a beautiful park for a walk, run or workout and there's a lot of work still going into it and planned out for it.
