Woodquarter Forest Walk

Woodquarter Forest Walk

by Dalia Taftazani

A quiet, mystical walk is watching over the beautiful Mulroy Bay.

On arriving at Woodquarter pier and forest walk car park, I thought, oh, that's nicely hidden! I had never been there before.

The view of Mulroy Bay, with its tiny islands from the Pier, is so meditative, and it stays with you all through the walk. You would walk in the middle of the trees for a while, and then you'd have a window overlooking the bay from a nice elevated spot. There's plenty of wildlife around to observe, we're sure we spotted what seemed to be a seal, so Binoculars would've been awesome to have. It's also a great place for Kayaking.

The forest walk is moderate, good for all skill levels, in the form of a loop that's roughly just over 1km. It gets steep and rocky at certain points too. At a good pace, it would be a good workout.

There's a nice bench in the middle for a break or a picnic with a lovely view.

It may be a small walk, but it's totally worth it and only 6 mins from Milford.
